Wow, so I am starting a blog for my photography and it's a little scary to be honest, and confusing. But I wanted to say hello and thank you for checking out my blog. I am sitting here wondering what I should share, should I share a photo? a picture of myself? how do I start this thing? So, how about I start by telling you how I got here.

I am very much a type A personality so naturally I went followed the path of going to college and starting a career, as my mother urged me to, and I chose teaching. I always wanted to be a teacher, but I am not so sure I always really did want to be a teacher because it was what I enjoyed OR if it was because it was an obvious choice. I just didn't know how to go about being something that wasn't an obvious choice and I didn't (still don't) like taking risks. So that left teaching. And I taught for over ten years, until...I got excessed, which means LAID OFF. This lead to a lot of anxiety and left me thinking "what do I really love?" and my answer was photography. So I took a leap of faith and decided to start Erica Burns Photography and I have never been happier!

I jumped in with both feet and I am thrilled. So thank you out there for supporting me and allowing me to choose to take the path I didn't take so many years ago because I was too chicken to do so.
